Car Insurance Oldsmobile (Car Insurance). need to find a teen sleep related car accidents research poll?

need to find a teen sleep related car accidents research poll? well i need to write a persuasive paper on early school bedtimes ive done pretty good but i neeed a research study of how many teen sleep deprived driving accidents there are i had found i good article but lost it just please post the info of the poll and the sources also i need to know like how many accidents are caused you know WHAT ARE THE NUMBERS MASON K thX BAI

The percentage of sleep-related collisions is about 18%. Younger drivers (16-20) need a greater amount of sleep hours, but maintain a life style of sleeping too little, and are likely to be involved in such collisions at long, straight roads at hours between 4:00 to 6:00. Alcohol consumption makes the driver more sleepy, so both factors (intoxication and deprivation of sleep) are often related. Falling asleep intensifies internal abdominal injuries due to shallow breathes and an overly-limp body. Interesting topic, I did a search for teen driving accidents lack of sleep and found the following there were several more. http://psychcentral.com/news/2010/02/17/lack-of-sleep-disrupts-teen-driving/11520.html http://www.sleepfoundation.org/article/sleep-topics/teens-and-sleep http://www.ygoy.com/index.php/teenagers-need-better-training-to-avoid-road-accidents/ I'd put money, and a large amount of it, on the biggest cause of teen accidents NOT being sleep related. Driving too fast, being drunk, not being able to read other peoples' actions / not paying enough attention, not being used to the car / inexperience, and probably one or two more things before sleep crops up! well you can find every single detail that you want from here :)

Concerns with buying a car that sat for several years? I found a 2005 hyundai with very, very low miles (12k). Turns out it probably sat in a garage somewhere from '06 (that's when it was last registered) until very recently. Looks and drives perfect, clean title/ carfax, etc. It is at a small dealer who picked it up at auction, otherwise they know almost nothing about it. I am concerned about the after-effects of it having sat all that time. What would you recommend doing before I buy? Take it to an independent mechanic, I know...what specifically should I have them check? car insurance.

Oldsmobile . bird was dead in windshield cowl?

bird was dead in windshield cowl? There was a heavy smell in my car, as if something was dead. Then I noticed that there was some dead bird inside the plastic grill below windshield (I think this is called windshield cowl). I don't know how it came here. I took my car to a workshop and got this cowl cover removed, and the bird too was removed. But then I asked him to throughly wash the cowl to eliminate any odors. He told me that water might go into the passenger cabin, but I insisted that it won't go inside. Now, I wonder whether it could be possible for water to drain into the car or not. I jwant to make sure whether this (washing the cowl) was safe or not? I have 2009 Toyota Corolla GLi, and my car is not with me right now so I can't check it physically. car insurance.

Oldsmobile . Facts About Running Car Engines Off of Grease

Today's diesel engines can run on a processed form of grease. Common restaurant grease and cooking oils, when processed into biodiesel, provide an alternative to dependence on fossil fuels.
Biodiesel
Before grease or vegetable oil can run a car's engine, it must undergo processing into its refined form, biodiesel. The "Chicago Tribune" noted that in 2007 the United States produced 450 million gallons of this newly popular alternative fuel.
Sources
Used cooking oil and restaurant grease provide plenty of raw material for biodiesel. A "Chicago Tribune" article states that some restaurants get paid to ship off their used oil and grease for processing. San Francisco has launched a citywide grease recycling program, according to SFGate.com.
Grades
The U.S. Department of Energy lists several grades of biodiesel-petroleum diesel blends, noting that the B2 and B5 grades can power most diesel engines.
Pros and Cons
While biodiesel emits less pollution and uses largely recycled, renewable materials, it currently costs more and delivers less power and lower fuel economy than standard fuels, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.
Considerations
The U.S. Department of Energy warns that trying to use unprocessed vegetable oil or grease will harm a vehicle's engine and advises drivers to use fully processed biodiesel only.

Oldsmobile . Facts About the Car Engine

The majority of modern cars are powered by four-stroke, internal combustion gasoline engines. This type of engine has been refined as automotive technology has continued to advance over the past century. While even the most basic car engine is a complex machine, the principles behind its operation are easy to understand.
A V8 Engine"Jaguar V12 engine" is Copyrighted by Flickr user: dave_7 under the Creative Commons Attribution license.Engine Basics
Most modern cars use an internal combustion engine. More specifically, the reciprocating piston engine is most common. Engines of this type are often named for their size both in terms if overall interior volume and the number of cylinders. Cylinders can be arranged in several ways: a straight row (known as a straight or inline engine), directly opposite one another (a flat engine) or at an angle to one another (the popular V configuration). Thus, a 3.8L V6 is an engine with a total displacement of 3.8 liters and six cylinders arranged in two rows of three cylinders each. Engine volumes are also sometimes noted in terms of cubic inches or cubic centimeters.
The Four-Stroke Cycle
Most engines use a four-stroke cycle. This engine cycle consists of intake, compression, combustion and exhaust. In the intake phase, fuel and air are drawn into one of the compression chambers. A piston rises in the chamber, compressing the mixture. The combustion phase begins when the compressed fuel mixture is ignited with a spark from the spark plug. The resulting explosion, known as the power stroke, forces the piston down and spins the crankshaft, thus powering the car. Finally, an exhaust valve opens to allow for the expulsion of exhaust and any fuel that did not burn.
Problems
Car engines experience a variety of problems. Some of these can be fixed simply, and others may make the engine permanently inoperable. Using gasoline with a low octane rating can result in engine knocking, which is actually a premature combustion in one of the cylinders. A cracked engine block is one of the more serious problems an engine can have. Blown head gaskets are more common, and can occur when an engine overheats or the gasket wears down. A broken connecting rod or faulty spark plug can leave an engine with one or more nonfunctional cylinders, robbing it of power.
Maintenance
While most car engines will eventually require major repair, a basic maintenance schedule should be followed to ensure that the engine lasts as long as possible and operates safely and efficiently. Regular oil changes are a must, as new oil will keep the engine lubricated and running smoothly. In addition, keeping an adequate level of engine coolant in the car will keep an engine from overheating. Occasionally spark plugs may need to be replaced. The engine air filter, which cleanses the air that is blended with fuel prior to combustion, is another item that should be changed as needed.
Other Types of Engines
Besides the standard, gasoline-powered internal combustion engine, other types of engines are used in some cars. While the vast majority of engines are reciprocating piston engines as described here, rotary engines operate on similar principles but use a spinning rotor in place of a set of pistons to create compression. Diesel engines are similar to gasoline engines but are designed to burn diesel fuel, which is ignited with hot air instead of a spark. Cars that use alternative fuels, such as hydrogen or electricity, are also becoming more common.

another. u0 Coil springs look like old-fashioned bed springs. They're usually found at the front of the car, although they can be at both the front and the rear. Coil springs are typically used with strut-type suspensions, too. Figure 11-7 shows one type of coil spring; Figure 16-7 shows front and rear springs. You can find instructions for lubricating them in Chapter 16. At the front end, coil springs help cushion the bumps, vibrations, and steering movements. At the rear, they're suspended between control arms that have rubber bushings. v0 Torsion bars (refer to Figures 11-7 and 16-9) are used mainly in sport-utility vehicles and pre-1980 Chrysler products. They are located at the front of the vehicle, connected to the lower control arms. They twist to accommodate differences in the load that the car may be carrying, allowing the front wheels to move up and down freely. Think of torsion bars as coil springs that didn't get wound into a spiral. W Air springs are usually found on luxury vehicles. A rubber air spring can be filled with the right amount of compressed air to control the ride and maintain the proper height. With this type of system, a computer monitors the ride height and signals an onboard air compressor to pump more air into the air springs whenever weight is added to the vehicle. When the weight is removed, the computer turns on an exhaust solenoid to let air out of the air springs (refer to Figures 11-7 and 16-10). Usually, there's nothing to lubricate with air springs. But check with the dealer to find out whether it's okay to apply a rubber conditioner to the air bags to prevent them from wearing out prematurely. .Chapter 11: Steering and Suspension Systems Smooth the Way Shocks and struts Shock absorbers (see Figure 11-9) and MacPherson struts (see Figure 11-10) do most of the work of protecting the passenger compartment from bumps. One or the other is located near each wheel. The way they cut down on vertical movement is interesting. When a wheel hits a bump, it tends to keep bouncing up and down long after the bump has been left behind unless the movement is controlled. The bouncing effect is due to the inflated rubber tire on the wheel, and also to the fact that a coil spring that is either pulled or compressed doesn't just snap back into its former shape but keeps moving up and down for some time afterward. Shock absorbers and struts allow the springs to compress freely and to return or rebound slowly — like the door check on a storm door that opens quickly and easily but closes gently. 466 Car Insurance ford escape 2011 hybridsportutility4d 54704
